So that you can dem Flow Builder we explain its special features and characteristics and give clear instructions on how to create and customise it. Let's take a closer look at this function.
What is the Flow Builder?
As already mentioned, this is a tool with which you can automate and customise processes in your shop without any programming knowledge. Flow Builder is a chain of events that are based on triggers. You can determine the sequence of procedures in your shop that follow an event. This allows you to manage customer data with Shopware Import und Export-Modul and continue to use the Flow Builder to create automatic tasks such as follow-up emails.you can find the Flow Builder in the menu under Settings - Shop.
If you click on Flow Builder, you will see a list of all the flows that have been created. There are both active and inactive flows here. These are the standard flows. They are sorted according to further criteria (active/inactive, name, trigger).
Creation of a new flow
Go back to the overview and click on "Add flow". The following menu allows you to name the flow accordingly. For example, enter "Order confirmation". You can also add a description that is displayed in the overview to briefly describe what this flow does. All employees will then see this description.
Dhe Priority field comes into play if you want to create multiple flows for the same trigger. The priority determines the order in which flows are to be used. For example, the flow with priority 10 is executed before a flow with priority 2. Finally, you can set the flow to active or inactive in Shopware 6. If you set the flow to active, it can be used immediately after creation.
Selecting a trigger
Switch to the Flow tab. The first step is to select a Shopware 6 Flow Builder trigger that should lead to the subsequent events that are about to be executed. Define the conditions for the action. In this example, we will create a flow for an order confirmation. You have to select order completion - order - receipt.
There are many triggers. They allow you to customise large parts of your shop to suit individual requirements and preferences.
Once you have decided on a specific trigger, you can add several conditions and actions.
Determination of the conditions
Conditions must be defined to refine the flow process. If you click on Add condition (IF), you can select an existing rule from the existing conditions or even create your own for special requirements with Rule Builder.
In order for the order confirmation process to apply to every order placed, you must select "Always valid". The result can be true or false. Let's see what happens if the conditions are met, i.e. the result is true, and what happens if the result of the conditions is false. You can add various conditions here.
Therefore, you can add an action instead of another condition. If the condition is met (true) and you click on the Add Action (THEN) button, a drop-down menu will appear with the actions that can be assigned. At this point you need to send an order confirmation. To do this, click on Send Email. Depending on the selected action, you will be offered further options for execution.!!! flow-builder-kannst
You can also configure other settings for this action. For example, you must select who the recipient of the email is. In this case, it is a customer. Next, an email template must be selected. These are configured in the settings. The email templates are already available for an order confirmation. If there are any attachments, you can use these, e.g. documents. This is not necessary at the moment. So you can leave it as it is. Click on "Add action" to finalise it.
If the condition is not met, the result is incorrect. It is recommended to click on Action (THEN) and select "Stop flow". You should then click on "Save".
The flow is successfully configured, which sends an order confirmation when an order is placed. It is recommended to spend some time experimenting with the flow builder and its triggers. The conditions and actions are also very important. This allows Flow Builder to be really creative, even if you have very specific, customised business processes in your shop. You can automate parts of it by using this tool in the simplest way possible.
